Together with Joost Olsthoorn, I've built a series of 5 Upcycled Bicycles for Café Modern. This is actually a restaurant, and also a small hotel. It's actually a GREAT restaurant, located in Amsterdam-Noord, "the other side" of Amsterdam where you can go by taking the ferry from the central station.
So, Joost and me toured the country, in search of some great bikes to transform into fast hotel lend-out bikes. We ended up with a some Koga's, a RIH and a Gazelle. We gave them new custom built wheelsets with coaster brakes, some very grippy and durable tires (Panaracer RiBMo's), stainless KMC chain and a decent Kryptonite U-Lock. Ready for conquering the city.
While we were so stupid to not make decent pictures of the bikes when they were finished, we had a nice surprise: someone spotted the bikes in Elle Magazine, while they were used in a fashion shoot!
This is Café Modern. Worth a visit! It's mostly a restaurant...
See that bike there? That's Joost's brass bike. A variation on the copper bike he made.

... but there are a three (?) very special hotel rooms, like this one:
